“Sew Your Future” Italy

This post is also available in: Italiano

“Sew Your Future” has been registered in Italy in March 2017 and is awaiting for confirmation of enrollment in the register of the national NGOs.

The association is the result of the expertise and experiences in the fields of work and volunteering of the five members of the board of directors, as well as of a natural propensity to collaborate and the desire to share their knowledge and support the most fragile part of the female universe.

Women often feel alone but, on the contrary, what each of us feels is common but hardly expressible. We think women are made to join and that they only need a little support to have positive catalytic effects. These beliefs and our experiences have led us to found “Sew Your Future” which is only at the beginning but…

The name “Sew Your Future” comes from the pilot project conducted in Ghana, in collaboration with the NGO DUNK! grassroots. The target of the program are the mothers of the poorest slum in James Town and their children, from a few months to six years of age. The project, self-financed and supported by donations of friends and acquaintances, continues successfully and the girls are about to complete the first course. The school, as well as the kindergarten for children, is completely free.

As abused women, in economic difficulty, with little education and short-term prospects, do not have borders, “Sew Your Future” is intended to:

  1. Helping at risk girls, single mothers and teenage mothers through vocational training and sexual education workshops;
  2. Supporting women in acquiring skills in the field of small business;
  3. Managing parenting support programs, including recreational, sports and educational activities for the children of the beneficiaries and the same mothers;
  4. Provide financial knowledge and a network of support to poor women to start their own business;
  5. Exchanging knowledge and collaborating with organizations promoting gender equality and strengthening / enhancing women, especially in developing countries.
  6. Continue to actively operate our projects in Ghana with DUNK! grassroots both with girls and with minors at risk.
